Dear National American Miss Oregon Contestants,

I would like to say welcome to an exciting and unforgettable weekend! This weekend will be a time to make friends, rock the stage, show your talents and best of all feel like Cinderella! The first thing you should do is smile and be yourself! If I have learned anything this year as your 2014 Oregon Teen Cover Girl it’s that there is nothing better than being yourself! I am so excited to meet each and every one of you! It has been nothing short of a dream come true to have had the honor of representing the beautiful state of Oregon as your state teen cover girl!

My favorite memories are getting to meet my sister queens for the very first time, volunteering in my community, attending the Washington state pageant and of course going to sunny California for the National pageant. Where I was blessed with the title of National Teen Cover Model and winner of the National Teen Volunteer Service and other amazing awards! I had so much fun making new friends and making memories.

This year I also got to hold a dress drive to benefit Abby’s Closet to help prom dreams come true, donate food and toys to The Ronald McDonald House and to help with the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure! I have learned so much from my year and I will never forget the memories that I have made and life lessons I have learned!

I’d like to say a huge thank you to my family and friends that have supported me since day one! Y’all are the best cheer section anybody could ask for! Thank you to my amazing sister queens, you are all so bright and beautiful and I am so glad I got to spend my year with you! It truly has been a privilege and I love you all! Thank you to Matt, our state director and his amazing staff for being there to encourage me the whole year. But most of all a HUGE thanks to my mom and dad for always making sure I look and feel like a real life Cinderella!

Good luck and have fun! Brandi Urban

Beaverton Days Parade Formal Dress Drive - Abby's Closet Race for the Cure Race for the Cure_Survivor Ronald McDonald House Supply Drive Oregon queens have been busy representing National American Miss and their state with pride. They’ve had some amazing outings and the girls have had a wonderful time getting to know each other. They have truly become sisters and love to support one another.

Ella Osborne, Oregon Princess Queen hosted a school supply drive for Friends of the Children, her local Fred Meyer store allowed her to set up. She had fantastic results, collecting more than $2600 worth of supplies. Pretty incredible! Her sister queens, Sophia and Jeanneil also showed up with their own supplies to support the cause and Ella!

The Oregon Queens her Cover Girl attended Race for the Cure. They were the only group placed just after the finish line as the survivors finished the race. This was really special time and showcased exactly what the girls did and how the smiles on their faces really share that feeling.  They cheered and congratulated and this particular racer stopped to get a photograph.

They’ve had a few really good group adventures as well, they attended the Beaverton Days Parade, made donations and delivered them to their local Ronald McDonald House, and  took place in a formal dress drive for Abby’s closet, which was hosted by Brandi Urban, Oregon Teen Cover Girl.

It’s hard to believe a year has already passed. My experience has been incredible – from the moment I was crowned to each and every day since.
I have had the opportunity to work fun stations for the Easter Seals Foundation, walked for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, made goody bags and candy necklaces for Bright Blessings to support homeless children and families and collected food and supplies for my own charity, B.R.A.Y.S. Love (Bringing Rescued Animals Your Support). I have entertained for many local pageants and was invited to sing the National Anthem for the Charlotte Knights and Davidson College.
Nationals was a blast!!! From going on a Hollywood Tour to visiting Mickey in Disneyland, I made so many friends and memories to last me a lifetime!! I was also honored to have received 2nd RU Naional Casual Wear Modeling and 3rd RU National Spokes Model.
A big thank you to Mr. Matt Leverton, my awesome state director!! You have made this such a special year always making every girl feel special!!
To my successor, the impact you make on the lives of those around you depends on how you utilize the title given to you so wear it proudly and above all make lots of memories and have fun!!!!

Brandi has been singing there since the age of nine and they asked her to please wear her crown and banner so they could introduce her with her title. She then was able to participate in the 14th Annual Easter Seals UCP Walk with Me Event the first weekend in October. She was invited by the Shining Crown Productions along with Jia Patel, the South Carolina Princess to run a temporary tattoo, kite decorating & face painting table as well as hoola hoop station for ESUCP children as well as raise money for this wonderful organization! Last weekend Brandi walked for the Susan B Komen Foundation in Race For The Cure. Brandi raised money for her team National American Miss. She was joined in the walk with her sister queens, Kaitlyn Connell and Megan Ebert.
