Emily Ramsey, Miss Tennessee Pre-Teen Queen, has been volunteering around town with different organizations. She volunteered for the Kids Wish Network. She passed out gift bags to needy families and met a great group of people who started the Kids Wish Network. They gave over 2,000 gift bags to families in Monroe County. It really made Emily think of how blessed she truly is to have all of the luxuries that she has. She also started working with a non-profit organization,The Butterfly Fund. The Butterfly Fund was founded for two little girls, Emily Barger and Maddie Harrill, who passed away in 2008 from the same type of rare childhood cancer. All of the proceeds given to The Butterfly Fund are donated to Childhood Cancer Research at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Emily has been selling butterfly pins made by the Sequoyah High School Majorettes for The Butterfly Fund as well. Emily also walked in the CureSearch Walk in Knoxville,TN for Childhood Cancer Research. She also had the chance to read to the children at the pre-school she attended when she was little. Emily was also able to give them books that were collected at the pageant.
