Miss South Carolina Teen Queen Sabrina Lercara makes an appearance at Fur Ball Moonlight Gala and works with the “Princess Workshop.” .

Sabrina was also asked to make an appearence as Miss South Carolina Teen at the 2011 Fur Ball Moonlight Gala which was held at The Columbia Metropoltian Convention Center. This organization raises money to save the lives and give homes to thousands of homeless dogs and cats in the Midlands that would otherwise have been euthanized. She was a red carpet greeter and dress model for silent auction.

Sabrina Lercara, National American Miss South Carolina Teen Queen, was asked to be a character princess by Crystal Garret former Miss South Carolina 2007 in her program called “Princess Workshop” which helps needy girls feel like princesses for a day. Sabrina appeared as “Belle” from Walt Disney’s “Beauty & The Beast” and the little girl Sabrina sponsored was the same character princess. Sabrina fixed her hair, painted her nails, played games, read books, and had a dinner party.

Sabrina Lercara, Miss South Carolina Teen Queen works with the Alzheimer’s Assocation of the Midlands Memory Walk 2011 at Finley Park in Columbia, SC. Sabrina particapted in the Memory Walk for the third year to raise awareness of this tragic disease. She read aloud “The Alzheimer’s” prayer and read the list of names on the tribute flags. Sabrina also volunteered at the Lexington Medical Center Extended Care Alzheimers Facility giving out stuffed animals. This is part of her platform for Alzheimers Awareness. She also helped out at the Christmas party at Lexington Medical Center Alzheimers Unit.

I truly loved being a queen. I have had a wonderful year as National American Miss Junior Teen Miss South Carolina. I had the opportunity to meet new people and experience new things. I made a lot of appearances during my year and my favorite ones were going to see Governor Sanford, going to see our soldiers deport for Kuwait from Eagle Aviations and visiting the elderly at Lexington Medical Extended Care Facility. Seeing the smiles on their faces when they saw me made me feel so good; this was truly the most rewarding thing in my life thus far. It has been a privilege to have been able to work in my community. It has given me a sense of accomplishment seeing that I can make a difference. I also had a blast at Nationals in California. We went to Disneyland and toured Hollywood. I even got to meet “Johnny Depp”! I can’t wait to do it all over again soon. I want to thank all of my family members; especially my mom and dad. Mom: I will always love you no matter how big I get for my gowns, so to speak. I know at times I have tried your patience and pushed your buttons. I know now that you are tireless as a Mother and you are my role model. You always encourage me to do my best and when I am disappointed you lift me up. Dad: thank you for always coming to support me and putting up with all the drama and finding a way of getting my gowns bought no matter the cost. From the bottom of my heart I thank you both, you are my heroes. To the newly crowned Junior Teen Miss South Carolina, the next year of your life will be amazing. This title has meant so much to me and I hope that it will find the same happiness that it has brought me. Have fun during your reign and enjoy your pageant family. Chase your dreams, not someone else’s. Enjoy your year because it truly does go by in the blink of an eye. To all the contestants, you are all truly winners. No crown proves that each and every one of you are beautiful in a million ways. Always stay true to yourself and never give up. And finally a huge thank you to Matt Leverton and everyone at National American Miss, you guys are phenomenal!
