Miss Kentucky Pre-Teen Covergirl Amanda Isaacs spent time at Kosair Children’s Hospital.

Amanda Amanda.JPG2 Amanda.JPG3Miss Kentucky Pre-Teen Covergirl Amanda Isaacs spent time at Kosair Children’s Hospital. Amanda visited the hospital and gave out books. Kosair is a children’s hospital where most kids are sick and or have serious issues, like cancer.  Amanda met with one of the major Doctors there and some employees who work hard to help these kids are their families. Amanda was able to visit with some patients. She really enjoyed her time visiting with some patients and families.  There was one girl in particular who was older but really enjoyed having Amanda visit her.   She has a rare form of cancer and is missing her senior year in high school and will spend most of the year at the hospital. It was a good visit and the kids really enjoyed their visit and the interaction with Amanda.

AvaTennessee Princess Ava Lowe delivered books at a local elementary school. Ava delivered age appropriate books to the preschool program at Jo Byrns Elementary School.

 

 

Miss Georgia Jr. Teen Gabrielle Buchan spoke at “Get Georgia Reading Initiative.”

GA jr. teen GA jr. teen.jpg2 GA jr. teen.jpg3 GA jr. teen.jpg4Miss Georgia Jr. Teen Gabrielle Buchan spoke at “Get Georgia Reading Initiative.” Gabrielle was able to attend and speak at Mrs. Sandra Deal’s “Get Georgia Reading Initiative.” Being able to speak with the First Lady of Georgia and many of Georgia’s State Representatives was an incredible honor for Gabrielle. Being able to spread the word on the importance of youth reading and knowledge is so important. Gabrielle was also able to make a donation of books to her county’s library in honor of the First Lady of Georgia, Mrs. Deal, on behalf of National American Miss.

Miss Georgia Pre-Teen Spokesmodel Damacia Howard was a guest speaker for the middle school girls of “Destiny’s Daughters of Promise.”

She encouraged, inspired and invited them to join her in her community project, “Books for Africa”. Damacia met with the girls from Barber Middle School, the Director of Destiny’s Daughters of Promise Lorraine Thomas and Dr. Barbara Swinney Assistant Superintendent Elementary School Leadership & Learning Cobb County Schools.

2015 National American Miss South Carolina Maryanna Hatcher volunteered with a summer school program.

Maryanna2015 National American Miss South Carolina Maryanna Hatcher volunteered with a summer school program. Maryanna was able to work with some students in a summer school program in Yemassee, South Carolina. She was able to teach them music using sign language and movement.

Madisyn Earls, 2015 Georgia Jr. Teen Cover Girl, donated supplies to Ingram-Pye Elementary School.

Madisyn Madisyn.jpg2 Madisyn.jpg3Madisyn Earls, 2015 Georgia Jr. Teen Cover Girl, donated supplies to Ingram-Pye Elementary School. Madisyn had the opportunity to meet the staff of Ingram-Pye Elementary School
for a Back to School Breakfast. Igram-Pye is a school that serves children from
very disadvantaged backgrounds. She was able to speak to the staff about National American Miss and
the values that it promotes. Along with that, Madisyn donated some of the supplies
that we rounded up at the National American Miss Georgia state pageant. The school was very grateful and assured Madisyn that the supplies would be put to good use. She also had the privilege to join
the team in prayer for the upcoming school year.  She really enjoyed hearing how
the staff is planning a year filled with success for their students!

Hunter Vaughn, South Carolina Teen Queen, has been busy volunteering around town.

Hunter Hunter2 Hunter3 Hunter4Hunter Vaughn, South Carolina Teen Queen, has been busy volunteering around town. Hunter used a portion of her winnings to purchase food to donate to the food pantry of HOPE in Lancaster.  HOPE- Helping Other People Effectively, provides help to residents of Lancaster and Fort Lawn, South Carolina, who are coping with short term financial emergencies.  HOPE offers assistance with rent, heating fuel, electricity, natural gas, water and food.

Hunter also donated the school supplies she received at the state pageant to Erwin Elementary School in Lancaster.  The majority of Erwin’s student body are children from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The supplies donated were greatly appreciated and will be distributed to students as needed throughout the school year.

Gabrielle Buchan, Miss Georgia Jr. Teen, participated in “Stuff the Bus.”

Gabrielle Gabrielle2 Gabrielle3Gabrielle Buchan, Miss Georgia Jr. Teen, participated in “Stuff the Bus.” Gabrielle was able to spend some time with Dawsonville’s Family Connections at the “Stuff The Bus” event donating school supplies for local families. On this certain day, buses were parked at Walmart throughout the great state of Georgia  collecting the items. Gabrielle was able to meet and connect with many people in her own county helping donate to this great cause. Glad National American Miss could be a part of it!

Sally Hennessee, Miss North Carolina Teen, donated school supplies.

Sally Sally2Sally Hennessee, Miss North Carolina Teen, donated school supplies. Sally Hennessee went to Druid Hills Elementary School in Charlotte, North Carolina to donated school supplies. Druid Hills Elementary is a year round school which is part of the Project Lift program.  The young ladies pictured  with Sally were thrilled to get some new supplies.
